For the most part, sergers are threaded in the same manner. Upper Looper, Lower Looper and then the needles. There are some sergers that auto thread, but you should still understand how to thread in the event you want to use heavier decorative thread.

Please do not let the Elna machine scare you off from watching eht threading process. And remember that this takes practice. When I teach hands-on classes, I teach threading – and we generally take three-four tries before everyone gets their machine to stitch properly.

Please check your overlock/serger manual for threading steps – as there should be images of your loopers and guides in the manual as well.
